Good Tool, poor quality coils.

The tool itself works great. It quickly heated the bolts I needed to remove and so far has worked as advertised on about a dozen bolts and none of them have rounded or broken off. The quick lock collar is convenient, just a 1/4 turn and the coils are locked in place solidly. The coils however are a weak spot. After 3 bolts the insulation began to flake off of the coil exposing spots of the copper underneath. After 6 bolts there were large sections of insulation missing and after 12 bolts I wouldn't feel safe using that particular coil anymore. If I were doing many bolts on an older vehicle I would quickly run out of coils.

You need it

Best thing since the creation of oxygen. So far it’s made every nut, bolt, part come off with ease on my car. Even helped get glue off my paint. What makes it even better is you don’t have to worry as much about burning your seals or bearings or any neighboring components.

Always wanted one

I relocated to SC a few years ago and abandoned my completely outfitted hobby shop in Ann. All my tools are 1200 miles North.

A brake job on my Volvo XC90 was giving me fits. 13 years and 200,000+ miles in Minnesota salt causes Swedish rust to be quite strong. I was longing for my Oxy-Acetyline blue wrench that is 1200 miles away. The local gas dealer estimated $1000 minimum for a new set-up.
Then I remembered the compact induction coils that I’d seen and wanted a number of times in the past.
Slightly more than $200 later and my problem with rusted fasteners is solved. It works well and you don’t risk burning up rubber grease boots and other plastics/discolorable surfaces near the object to be heated.
